Call to Worship

Cameron Deary ~ Music Leader

Jacksonville Beach Worship Ministry

He is Risen! And God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Hymn - Oh Praise the Name

I cast my mind to Calvary

Where Jesus bled and died for me

I see His wounds, His hands, His feet

My Savior on that cursed tree

His body bound & drenched in tears

They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb

The entrance sealed by heavy stone

Messiah still and all alone

Chorus

O praise the Name

of the Lord our God

O praise His Name forevermore

For endless days

we will sing Your praise

Oh Lord, oh Lord, our God

Then on the third at break of dawn

The Son of heaven rose again

O trampled death where is your sting

The angels roar for Christ the King

He shall return in robes of white

The blazing sun shall pierce the night

And we will rise among the saints

Our gaze transfixed on Jesus' face

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1:3-5

Hymn -Living Hope

How great the chasm

that lay between us

How high the mountain

I could not climb

In desperation, I turned to heaven

And spoke Your name into the night

Then through the darkness,

Your loving-kindness

Tore through the shadows of my soul

The work is finished the end is written

Jesus Christ, my living hope.

Who could imagine

so great a mercy?

What heart could fathom

such boundless grace?

The God of ages

stepped down from glory

To wear my sin and bear my shame

The cross has spoken, I am forgiven

The King of kings calls me His own

Beautiful Savior, I’m Yours forever

Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the

One who set me free

Hallelujah, death

has lost its grip on me

You have broken every chain

There’s salvation in Your name

Jesus Christ, my living hope

(REPEAT)

Then came the morning

that sealed the promise

Your buried body began to breathe

Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion

Declared the grave

has no claim on me

(REPEAT)

Jesus, Yours is the victory!

[Chorus]

Jesus Christ, my living hope

Jesus Christ, my living hope

“Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the disciples went back to their homes.

But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her."

Responsive Reading  - Matthew 6:9-13 ~ Read in Unison

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come.

Thy will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

The power, and the glory,

For ever and ever. Amen.

Hymn -  Low in the Grave

Low in the grave he lay,

Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day,

Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph

o'er his foes;

he arose a victor

from the dark domain,
and he lives forever,

with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!

Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch his bed,

Jesus my Savior,
vainly they seal the dead,

Jesus my Lord!

Death cannot keep its prey,

Jesus my Savior;
he tore the bars away,

Jesus my Lord!

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:1-26

Allen Cagle ~ Pastor

Sunrise Community Church

1 “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”

Hymn - Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now I'm found

Was blind, but now I see

'Twas grace that taught

my heart to fear

And grace my fears relieved

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed

Chorus

My chains are gone,

I've been set free

My God, my Savior

has ransomed me

And like a flood His mercy reigns

Unending love, amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me

His word my hope secures

He will my shield and portion be

As long as life endures

The earth shall soon

dissolve like snow

The sun forbear to shine

But God who called me here below

Will be forever mine

Will be forever mine

You are forever mine

Unending love, amazing grace

Hymn - Glorious Day

I was buried beneath my shame

Who could carry that kind of weight?

It was my tomb, 'Til I met You

I was breathing, but not alive

All my failures I tried to hide

It was my tomb, 'Til I met You

Chorus

You called my name

And I ran out of that grave

Out of the darkness

Into Your glorious day

You called my name

And I ran out of that grave

Out of the darkness

Into Your glorious day

Now Your mercy has saved my soul

Now Your freedom is all that I know

The old made new

Jesus, when I met You

You called my name

And I ran out of that grave

Out of the darkness

Into Your glorious day

You called my name

And I ran out of that grave

Out of the darkness

Into Your glorious day

I needed rescue, My sin was heavy

But chains break

at the weight of Your glory

I needed shelter. I was an orphan

But You call me a citizen of Heaven

When I was broken,

You were my healing

Now Your love is the air

that I'm breathing

I have a future, My eyes are open

'Cause when you called my name

Benediction - Hebrews 13:20-21

“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
